Nanjing Agricultural University -- Wang Liangju/Jiang Weibing/Huang Health, et al., published the invention patent of "A method for promoting plant Growth". The study of the invention shows that the effect of using 5-ALA is to increase plant chlorophyll content, promote stomatal opening, increase net photosynthetic rate, reduce photorespiration intensity, increase soluble sugar and dry matter accumulation, thereby improving plant stress resistance and increasing yield. The effect was remarkable.
As shown in the figure, carboxylation efficiency of leaves treated with 100mg/L ALA was 96.51%, 210.77%, 55.72% and 172.64% higher than that of control, respectively. The results showed that ALA treatment significantly improved the CO2 assimilation ability of melon leaves growing under low light.
